  3. Welcome to WAVE Interactive and EROS.
  4.  
  5.  
  6. Please note the following instructions and guidelines for installing and
  7. using EROS.
  8.

  11. INSTALLATION
  12. ------------

  14. This program uses Apple's Quicktime for Windows to play back the movies you will
  15. see.  A runtime copy is included on the EROS disc.  
  16.

  18. You may begin installation of EROS in one of three ways:
  19.  
  20. 1 -- From within the Windows File Manager - simply double click on the INSTALL.EXE
  21.      file (located inside the "PC folder"), directly from the CD directory.
  22.  
  23. 2 -- From the Windows Program Manager - Select Run from the File menu and type 
  24.      the full path to the PC directory on the CD-ROM drive and INSTALL.EXE
  25.      i.e.  G:\INSTALL.EXE
  26.

  28. The installation procedure will not copy ANY files to your hard drive but, will create
  29. a Program Group (WAVEInteractive) and Icons within the Group to facilitate play.
  30. Once your new icons are created you can click on the EROS icon to begin play.
  31. Allow 15-30 seconds for THE PROGRAM to load (this depends on the speed of your
  32. hardware). Once in THE PROGRAM, allow 2-7 seconds to respond to your selections.
  33. To exit the program at any time, press Alt-F4 or click on the QUIT
  34. button, this should stop movie play and return you to Windows.

  37. System Requirements and Recommendations

  40.   IBM 80386 or compatible - 80486 will perform better
  41.  
  42.   4mb of free RAM  -  8 MB recommended!

  44.   Double Speed CD-ROM Drive & Sound card (with Most Recent Drivers!)

  46.   Graphics Support for 256 colors (* 8-bit, 16-bit, or 24 bit)

  48.   Microsoft Windows 3.1 and above with Mouse

  51. If you have a screen saver active, disable it prior to starting the program.  
  52. If the screen saver becomes active during the program you may lose your
  53. cursor.
  54.  
  55. Some high resolution video cards may require updated drivers in order to
  56. work properly with QuickTime for Windows. If you experience problems when
  57. starting or running the Program, contact your Video Card manufacturer to inquire
  58. about updated software for their card.

  61. * Additional Color Comments:

  63. EROS can run in 8 Bit, 16 bit, or 24 bit color. To play this program in
  64. other than 256 colors (8 bit), simply select the proper driver to run in
  65. either 16 bit or 24 bit (Read your Video Card Manufacturers documentation for
  66. information regarding your current Video Card's color capabilities, you may
  67. require a new Video Card to run in higher color settings). Once you have selected
  68. your new driver, simply start the program as explained under INSTALLATION. You
  69. may receive a dialogue box warning you that "you may experience unexpected results
  70. when running in other than 16 or 256 colors (8 bit), simply click the YES button
  71. and continue program play. Keep in mind, running in 16 or 24 bit may reduce
  72. playback performance, based upon your computer configuration.
